Cambodian Men’s Volleyball Garners Silver Medal

PHNOM PENH: The Cambodian men’s volleyball team took home a silver medal after losing to the Indonesian volleyball team 3-0 on the night of May 8 at the National Olympic Stadium. The final match was attended by the Minister of National Defense and Chairman of the CAMSOC-CAMAPGOC National Committee, Tea Banh, alongside National Police Commissioner, Neth Savoeun.

Although Cambodia did not bring home the gold, this is the first time the men’s volleyball team has made it to the finals to compete for first place. Ultimately, Cambodia lost all three sets in the final with the first set ending 21-25, the second 10-25 and the final set 15-25.

To reach the finals, Cambodia defeated the Thai volleyball team 3-2 on the night of May 7 while Indonesia beat Vietnam with a score of 3-0 that same night.

The Thai volleyball team played against Vietnam to determine the bronze medallist last night. Ultimately the honor went to Vietnam, who won all three sets.
